Living a life that isn't the norm lends to questions being asked.
If you have a question that isn't answered below,

Q: "How do you make money and travel?"
A: This question is probably the most common. Before I left my marketing job I signed up for Doordash and Instacart. On my days off I would I would spend 4-5 hours doing Doordash/Instacart that way I could see what to expect for my earnings, how it works, and if it's something I would even want to do. Once I realized that I could make money basically anywhere in the United States I decided to say adios to the cookie cutter life. I took everything I didn't have to have to my mom's basement (thanks mom for the free storage) and I packed my car with a tent and the neccesseties.
So, for now I am doing Doordash and Instacart. My long term plan is to have this travel website, YouTube, and a podcast. There are also other ways to make money from a laptop and public wifi. It's not too difficult if you think outside of the box.
Q: "Where do you stay while you travel?" A: I wanted to keep things simple and budget friendly. I like to splurge on experiences and good food. I also don't want to spend 10 hours a day working because that would defeat the entire purpose of me leaving my "real" job. To keep my housing on the lower end I camp. Yes, this city girl can actually pitch a tent! I'm pretty proud of myself for that. I use Hipcamp it's like Airbnb for camp sites. I also stay at primitive sites which typically are cheaper than having water and electric hookups. I'm gone most of the day exploring or working. I also use Airbnb occassionally.
Q: "Isn't it dangerous traveling alone?"
A: Of course when it comes to safety or how to live life we all have different opinions on it. My thoughts are that life in general is dangerous. No one can avoid the inevitable. When it's time for this life to be over I would rather know that I spent my time living and soaking up every bit of it. With that said I tend to not worry too much. None of us are in full control of anything and if something is meant to happen it will. Here are the few things I do to make sure I am being proactive and safe while still living the way I want to.
I make sure someone knows where I am. I let family and really really close friends know the address where I'm staying, how long I am going to be there, and I also check in with them regularly.
When I am booking a place whether it's on Hipcamp or Airbnb I make sure to only book places with a host that has a lot of reviews and is highly rated. I read all of the reviews also.
I trust my gut. We have a natural danger detection system built into us, but a lot of times people ignore it. The first time I feel that something isn't right I leave. I always trust my instincts.
Pay attention to your surroundings. Sure, I am go with the flow and typically down for anything but trust me I am listening to what people are saying and how they are acting. I also make sure I know where my keys and phone are (usually right beside me or in my pocket)
I don't post my exact location until after I leave. Being that I am a travel blogger I share campsites or Airbnb stays that I would recommend. I do not post anything about those locations until I have already packed up and left to a different place.
I don't share all of my safety tips with anyone. If people know every detail to how you are staying safe then you are no longer safe. Don't over share.
I will update this post as more questions are asked.
